SUZANNE

Born
in Cairo 1950. Studied at the Lycee Francais. As a child
she enjoyed playing with the young weavers at the centre.
During the school holidays she spent some time weaving
and making pottery. |

1968-1971 |
Attended
the Social Studies Institute in Cairo. |
|
|
1972 |
Started
work with "the second generation" wool weavers. |
|
1973 |
Married
Ikram Nosshi, an architect who designs for hot climate
and passive solar architecture, in the vernacular style. |
|
1979 |
The
second generation wool tapestries were displayed for the
first time in an international exhibiton held in Sweden.
Personal involvement with pottery. |

1985-1987 |
Took
charge of the pottery workshop, designing, glazing and
firing all ware. |
|
1991 |
The
second generation weavers consists fo 28 artists, while
3 potters assist Suzanne. |
